Sword Drill
A race to find the Bible verse first.
2–40 players · about 15 minutes · Calm / mind game · Small room, Big room
What you need
- A Bible for every player (the same translation is best)
Setup
Players stand in a line holding their closed Bibles at their sides.
How to play
- The leader calls "Attention!" and players hold their Bibles out in front of them.
- The leader calls out a reference, for example "John 3:16."
- On "Charge!" players race to find it.
- The first one to find it steps forward and reads it out loud.
How to win
The player with the most first-place finds wins.

- Pair new students with experienced ones.
- Choose verses that point to your lesson.
Tie it to your lesson
The Bible calls itself "sharper than any double-edged sword." The better you know your way around it, the more ready you are.
