Sharks and Minnows
Cross the ocean without getting caught by the sharks.
8–60 players · about 10 minutes · Run around · Gym, Outdoors, Big room
What you need
- Nothing (cones to mark the two ends help)
Setup
Everyone except one or two "sharks" lines up at one end as minnows. The sharks stand in the middle.
How to play
- The sharks yell "Fishy, fishy, cross my ocean!"
- Minnows run to the other end without getting tagged.
- Tagged minnows become sharks for the next run.
- Keep going back and forth until only one or two minnows are left.
How to win
The last minnow standing wins and is the first shark next time.
Leader tips
- Great for burning off energy in 5 minutes before a lesson.
Ways to change it up
Octopus
Tagged players freeze in place and become "seaweed." They can tag minnows by reaching out, but they can't move their feet.
